The motifs you can see in my work are oscillating between abstract and natural. In the tradition of op-art, I’m testing the limits of our perception and provoking viewer’s eyes to see phenomena which are not entirely present in the still picture, like swirling movements of macrostructures. The starting point is a drawing, physical record of my movements, which later is used for the technique of rollage. I cut the original drawing in stripes, straight or irregular, and then recompose them together in a different order, and repeat the whole process multiple times. Rollage is a time-consuming and meticulous tecnique but for me it’s a kind of meditation. The result is always surprise for me and I never regret time and energy spent for the creation.
