This artwork emerged during one of the busiest periods of my life, becoming a meditative anchor amids waves of change.
While creating this piece I found myself deeply influenced by Robin Wall Kimmerer’s “Braiding Sweetgrass”.
This piece is about the sacred exhange between humans and nature - the delicate dance of giving and receiving. It’s a visual reminder that when we approach the natural world with gratitude and respect, asking permission before taking and giving thanks for what we receive, we participate in an ancient and honourable cycle.
Through this piece, I wanted to capture that moment of connection, where gratitude meets responsibility, where taking meets giving back.
It is my artistic interpretation of what Kimmerer calls the “honourable harvest”, a practice of sustainable relationship with the living world.
