Nitzan Yoel Avidor
Artist statement
I’m a ‘self-taught’ sculptor artist, living and working in the village Gan-Haim in Israel where i was born in 1962.
For the last 13 years, i dedicated myself to art. Most of my sculptures are figurative, from monumental size to small,
I create in special technique I developed. In which I weld iron strips and perform 3 dimensional sculptures.

”Nitzan Yoel Avidor”
Nitzan Joel Avidor is a steel sculpture artist with endless imagination that gives special meaning to figures taken from the world of culture, literature, tradition and art. His figurative sculptures full of symbolism and allegory are pleasing to view and capture the viewer both visually and emotionally.
His current show in Efrat Gallery in Tel-Aviv, is a series of human figures that are attached to the heart in personal body language with eclectic, symbolic and poetic connotations. Avidor’s creations express criticism and sarcasm mixed with humor and wit. His metal sculptures are painted in bright colors, as is common in pop-style and gives them life and naughtiness.
Nitzan’s sculpture style is greatly influenced by the Bible mythology as well as the artistic culture drawn from Greek mythology making him a universally understood artist. While his monumental public sculptures speak to the urban public with the people specific to the Country and place, his smaller sculptures in this series with their connection to the heart speak universally to all citizens of the world.
Nitzan’s subjects are selected from mythology and the Biblical world as well as the day-to-day life of the world he lives in. The connection with the observer is most important to Nitzan, and his work is received with great admiration by his audience. His sculptures’ subjects in the large scale as well as the small scale include: Love, relationships, reproduction and family (human as well as animal). Nitzan Joel Avidor has exhibited with great success in Acre Festival, “Borrowed Time”, 2007; “Close Distant Vision” in Park Kafar Saba, 2008; “Sculpture Path” in Mamilla, Jerusalem, 2009; “Drawing in Space” in 2011; sculpture project in Park 2014.
