Descrizione Opera / Biografia

The technique I apply in my work as a printmaker originated in the 15th and 16th centuries. Little has changed in the method. I am thus a continuator of an ancient European tradition of graphic art. In my colour graphics I only combine two component colours. Each of those I need to prepare a separate plate for. My artistic work has its origins in experiencing the nature, entangled by music, history and tales and cultures of indigenous peoples. All this filters through my personal experiences.
My prints in this show make up a logbook from a journey deep into inner feelings, through dreamlike spaces and seas, to sources of humanity. There are fleeing visions, on life with all its multiple seams, full of surprises, even troubles, but always through humour and satire. Like I was illustrating my own wanderings.
