Today the Artist sees herself as a multidisciplinary artist- each idea she has, often generates the need for a different style, a different mindset in order to create something original and exciting. The Artist uses paint, collage, weaving, embroidery, photography, installation to achieve her aim: to create original work which will go on to hopefully excite, intrigue, and move her audience.
Starving dog at 2 minutes and 10 seconds
In the world of social media we are constantly bombarded with images of abused and neglected animals, this often results in us, the viewer, becoming numbed and disconnected. Taking Goya’s drowning dog as inspiration, I have tried to anticipate how the original audience of this image might have felt and through creating painted images from what was initially photographs or videos , I am hoping to try to reconnect with today’s viewer and create the same shock I believed Goya bestowed on his audience. These series of works were started in August 2018 and Starving dog at 2 minutes and 10 seconds has recently been finished.
