Descrizione Opera / Biografia

In painting I value color the most. I believe, Malevich’s thesis, which claims that color on the level of emotional influence is equal to sound in music, is absolutely correct. A true work of art carries an informational and emotional charge. And the more clearly the artist expresses his idea, the more the spectators will relate to the image. My artworks are constructed of cardboard planes and then imagery is applied on with tempera paint. Comprised of two-dimensional planes and constructed in 3-D, they utilize a more sculptural approach and resemble objects by which the pieces are titled. In such art-objects, a dynamic playful relationship emerges between three-dimensional volumes and painting. Color takes on a main role in this union. It stirs the viewer, makes him absorb the imagery, and affects the entire interior.
”Candy”. The work in three-dimensional. The candy wrap rises and comes back down. It can be presented in 2 mobile stages: open and closed. Candy is like memory of your childhood, when strong wind and shadows behind the window could scare you, and when candy tasted the sweetest.
”Slippers in the Grass, or the Last Day of Summer.” The work is three-dimensional. It consists of 2 parts. During the last warm days of summer, the shadows falling on the slippers are incredibly contrasting.
”Spring”. The work is three-dimensional. Spring, like a silhouette of a girl wearing red stockings. In place of heart she has a bird’s nest, ribbon bow on her head, and dreamy look in her eyes. The legs of the artwork are constructed like a drawer. There are coins inside the drawer.
