Mauro Sgarbi, born in Petaling-Jaya Malaysia in 1972 from a family of Italian/French artists. Today partecipates activly in the contemporary art life of Rome and Italy with exibitions an cultural events.
Pop surrealist and visionary, he is continuously at the research of a dream trip which stimulates the tought of the public trough the creation of fantastic parallel worlds. The desire to express a feeling or an emotion trough still images or animation is what pushes him to grasp a pencil, a brush or the mouse of the computer.
He's strongly attracted by all art forms and genre but his personality is reflected the most in surrealism.
From 1994 to 1996 he studied at "Scuola Romana dei Fumetti" in Rome getting specialized in comix drawing and storyboarding
From 2006 to 2010 he attended a painting and drawing lab at the "Academy Program Study" in Rome
In 2006 he studied 3D Animation and Modeling at the "VanArts" school in Vancouver (Canada)
In 2010 he studied the art of nude at RUFA (Rome University of Fine Arts)
In 2010 he entered the Art Team of Daniele Radini Tedeschi
