Descrizione Opera / Biografia

”La vita che ti diedi” is part of my long term project ”Le Maschere Nude” approaching historical memory. It is an evocation of exile and separation.
It is a partially unwoven and nude canvas (treated with transparent binder though), with touches of acrylic painting. The unwoven parts compose the drawing by integrating ”emptiness/blankness” in the painting.
I have been refining this process throughout the years in order to focus on the story the canvas is telling: I eliminated painted surfaces to give prominence to drawing and blankness, seeking equilibrium, economy of means and simplicity. Chinese Masters’ paintings had a profound influence on my research.
When I un-weave my canvas, I intend to reveal an unsaid story. The deconstruction of the canvas echoes that of the known story in order to retrieve the untold.
Much remains to be said about the subjugation of bodies: territorial, economic, memorial, sexual... My current work with the canvas and portraits addresses the transgression of barriers from an unwritten world, an ob scenum world that lives in the margin and yet, where History is also made.
I painted ”La vita che ti diedi” during my artistic residency at the Museum CAV La Neomudéjar, in Madrid, Nov2015-Apr2016.
Biography
Member of AVAM (Artistas Visuales Asociados de Madrid) #964
“[…]her artistic world is: integrating, binding, vast, extensive, extensible. Wherever she looks, she sees something relevant to her work. But if she closes her eyes, she also can see blankness, absence, blackness and memories […], she knows how to codify them to make them part of her creative process.” Pilar G. Rodríguez; “Ludivine Allegue - Lo que el lienzo esconde” Descubrir el arte, July 2018.
Allegue started painting at her city’s Art School (EMA, now an official preparatory class for French National Arts Academies) with painters Hélène Picardi and Carlos Aresti.
She graduated in Arts and Sciences of Art at the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne where she attended Lea Lublin, Jean-Michel Palmier, Jean-Claude Lebensztejn and Geneviève Clancy’s classes.
In 2003, she completed her PhD at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne with Composer and Research Director Costin Miereanu. She dedicated part of her PhD thesis to Jaume Plensa’s sculptures, and subsequently worked at Plensa’s Studio during a few years.
In 2005, she made a musical short film in collaboration with Shahrokh Moshkin Ghalam (former Théâtre National de la Comédie Française resident), Imen Tnani and Juhamahat: sama (https://www.unifrance.org/film/27973/sama), a new step in her experimentations with the capture of movement from the performers’ body, which was screened worldwide.
In 2007, her project B(earth)in collaboration with vocal Artist Yvon Bonenfant, was chosen for an Art Residency at the École Nationale Supérieure d’Art Limoges Aubusson (French Ministère de la Culture). That collaboration evolved through two more projects with Bonenfant –Intimacies and Beacons in 2008– both funded by the British Academy and invited at the “Curating Knowledges” residencies at the Alsager Arts Centre (Manchester) in 2009.
From 2008 to 2012 she lived and worked at the Sacromonte-Granada (Spain). Her work was chosen in 2010 for an individual exhibition at the Centro de Arte Joven Rey Chico (Ayuntamiento de Granada). During that period she completed an international Art project with composer Julius Fujak. This is also when she started developing her new collaboration with Performance artist V.Lacmanović: Disorient (initially titled Azzuharah).
In 2012 she moved to Madrid where both ”Disorient” and her long term personal project on untold family and historical memories ”Le Maschere Nude” were chosen for an Art Residency at the Museum CAV La Neomudéjar from Nov 2015 to April 2016.
