How am I supposed to be? is a personal collection of portraits. A flow in constant evolution and recombination of staged photographs.
I build the subject’s habitat of my subjects by creating images that reflect the essence of what I feel and perceive.
Bonds, relationships, intimacy, and sensuality are the elements that catch my attention.
The relationship with the other is central to my work. To get a portrait, I explain to my subjects what to do, I direct their movements while dealing with their insecurity I find the strength to control my own.
How am I supposed to be? it is the question that I ask myself, the one that most profoundly belongs to me, and, through photography, as if in a mirror, I look for the answer in the other.

Jacopo Noera (1991) is an Italian artist who lives and works between Modena and Milan.
Human relations and social dynamics are the central themes of his design process. His work focuses on the mechanisms of empathy and sharing, investigating, through the use of different mediums, the physical and psychological boundaries that distinguish the relationships between people in everyday life.
