Descrizione Opera / Biografia

Statement
In my work I play with the narrative possibilities made available by the practice of painting. By the means of representation I sketch stories that does not fully make sense, that don’t necessarily have a logical chain or a plausibility. In my paintings I try to put side by side, overlap and recombine scenes that are part of people’s everyday lives but that come from different times and different places. The characters and the occurrence that I depict come from photographic archives or from web, downloaded from image storages (e.g. tumblr) that index the images by controvertible and evanescent categories and taxonomies. The result of this combination is a sort of visual riddle that anyone can resolve and guess, completing the story.
