”My painting is about the shield of protection we call Immunity. Complex, fragile, constantly under siege, the spirals of our DNA transmit and receive electromagnetic vibrations to life all around us. Much can disrupt this intricate universe, where everybody and everything is linked together. We are global family and individuals. Communications swirl in a continual flux of changing molecular and energetic relationships. Possibilities mingle in super-physical realms. The microcosmic structure of the single human being is as complex as the Planet. The radiant self inside is waiting to connect, to expand horizons, to live in unconditional health and harmony. This painting explores, conception, physicality, consciousness and spirit, the universe of self. I honor and borrow from the painting traditions of the indigenous people of Australia. The painting includes a multitude of iridescent color which can barely be seen unless viewed in the right light from the right vantage point. Much like life itself, mysteries are waiting and hidden from view until conditions arise to allow what has always been there, to be seen.I began painting in 2013 as a form of meditative relaxation. For the few years previous to this I have been sculpting with welded metal. It’s hard to say which form I enjoy most, they are both so satisfying. I have worked with Photography since the 1980’s, mostly portrait, back in the days before digital came around. I write, work with collage, textiles and mosaics. I enjoy utilizing many mediums and materials to create my art.I was educated at Swinburne Technical School during the 70’s in Melbourne which ran a vibrant Art curriculum. I traveled and lived in the UK for six years where I began to work with Holographs. When I returned to Australia, I completed a Bachelor of Arts at Flinders University, majoring in Literature. I am a life student and practitioner of Natural Health. In 2013, I opened my studio gallery for the Fringe Visual Arts Program for the Castlemaine State Festival. I have exhibited in group photography shows in Melbourne.
