Artist statement
In my painting endeavors I originate from the reinterpretations of the digital image, from its immaterial position in cyberspace. The idea of transferring the digital image to the material sphere is essential to me. The painting process itself is concentrated in the transfer of the image from digital screens to the canvas, which is covered with ducktape in a specific order with which I then transfer the image to the finished carrier. The painting is not restricted to the traditional easel painting, but it bends to the process and concept. The end result is not necessarily a painting. I primarily draw from the photographic registers on the internet, from the pool of historical images, chronicles, from rural traditions, hunting documentations and sporting events. For me, painting is a process of framing and revealing the distances and spaces in which I move forms and neglected images that are dumped in mass virtual depots, with which I wish to create a new carrier object for them.
