Premio Combat Prize

Mariana Scvortova is born in the former Soviet Union , in the R. of Moldova , in a family of artists . That coined her further life orientation. She learned the art Lyceum in Chisinau and St. Petersburg , studied at the Academy of Arts Tallinn , Estonia and graduated with a degree in painting and art education . Special field of her study was “art in construction” , where she learned the art of fresco and stained glass , mosaic and more design techniques . In her international artistic activity Mariana Scvortova has executed several commissions for interior design for public -, sacred- and private property , as in several layers, including self-organized exhibitions, participated . Since 2001 , the artist lives and works in Germany and has worked as a lecturer at the Munich VHS. Since 2011 she is also artistically and pedagogically active in Switzerland .

Also, by teaching classical painting and painting techniques was Mariana Scvortova her own artistic positioning clearer. Through admiration of the material world and almost fetishistic attention to details in her images , the artist builds a set of associations . Playful she pulls the viewer’s attention to the everyday, almost not noticed things , and thereby brings a wide range of emotions. They are nostalgic , melancholic, sentimental, sad , even critical and rebellious and are in harmony with the modern life. Add her images to the opposite pole of a lost and uncertain modern man is to discover.
