Premio Combat Prize

A Day in the Woods:

The sculpture consist of 20 small, different faces of children in cans. The cans are used to send spices all over the world. The children are locked in their own world. They come together in another environment to live and go to school with their own story of leaving their culture because of violence, wars of poverty. They are together but still alone.

Woman and Wars:

The sculpture is about the role woman plays in wars.

Soldiers and Lovers:

There is a place in Holland were soldiers from WO1 and WO2 from both sides passed and wrote their emotions in the trees being in a strange country not knowing what will happen, also lovers came by. The trees are still there as keepers of their stories and memories. I took over this inscriptions. It’s about men, time and nature.

Hearsay, said the tree:

It’s about the complex relation about men and nature. Are we still part of it or
is it just projection we want.

1996-2002 - Partner with “Ateliers op Locatie” (“Studio on location”); in-company art training sessions a.o. Moret Ernst and Young, Reed Elsevier, City Council of Amsterdam.
2002-today - Creative workshops for companies
2002-today - Teacher of sculpting and working in stone at the Gooise Academy, Laren, The Netherlands.
