Premio Combat Prize

Artwork description: A recent trip to Japan inspired me to create a piece that would let me relive the amazing time I had there exploring both the beautiful country and the hussle and bustle of the congested city life. A collage-like process using personal handmade textures, ink splatters and washes along with digital painting and touch-ups make up a complex but story-telling visual. An elegant Geisha mixed with grunge-like textures create a contrast that pushes the viewer to look further into the artwork to discover finer intricate details and images.
Biography: I currently live in Canberra Australia and have been working as a professional graphic designer for the past 15 years. Outside of work, I spend my spare time illustrating characters and creating dark and haunting artwork. I love to experiment with a range of mediums - both traditional and digital. Basically, I have fun creating art and design in many ways and styles.
