Descrizione Opera / Biografia
Often informing my designs is the Japanese tradition of making ‘1000 cranes’ as a symbol to wish My art is influenced by my Japanese heritage and my new connection to the Australian landscape. My inspiration comes from the ancient Japanese cultural and art traditions, particularly textiles and calligraphy and now blends with my appreciation of the rich natural environment of Australia.
Using the technique of Origami and Japanese “Washi” papers with calligraphy inks, I interpret my inspirations into contemporary new works. for happiness, good luck and peace. Each art work is infused with a specific message, indicated by its title in Japanese (translated into English).
