Artwork description / Biography

this video etude had been shot three weeks before the mobilisation in Russia started on the 1st of September, 2023. by that moment almost all of my friends left their homes because they didn’t agree with the war. the close friend of mine, Ilya Yashin, is sentenced to ”Fellini” - 8.5 years in jail, because he was against and he couldn’t be silent.
it is half a song, half a lullaby, half a pray. the song is written and sung also by me, earlier it was a song tributed to the person I loved. later, it became a kind of psychotherapy when I witnessed the crime started by my homeland. 4.33 is hommage to John Cage. there is tradition -- 1 minute of silence, when you want to honour someone or something who/what is gone. and here is 4.33 of silence, a sign of memory. it is about love, death, war, prison. it is about you and me.
(tribute to Boris Bernaskoni)
