Artwork description / Biography

In this artwork I’m trying to interpret complexity of human relationship. We quite often keep our emotions hidden and where there is tension we tend to express that in nonverbal matter. This is exactly what’s happening on this artwork. Two objects - red and black are my illustration of people and these lines are like our feelings that are stretched. I’m always using my background as a doctor of physics and mathematics by coding such emotions in a way of physical process and in this case that would be like two poles of a magnet that define how tension between them will look like depending on environment. My attempt is always to dig into our life both from tangible and intangible point of view and express that in my artworks.
Dmitry Artyukhin is living and working in Gdynia, Poland. He came to art with background of Doctor of Physics and mathematics with deep focus on studying of brain and neuron dynamic, electronic circuits and using different models to prototype the different physical processes of brain activity. Self-taught artist since 2013. His goal is to find specific triggers, specific elements like textures, images, fractals, and colors that would help people to recall their memories and create their own emotions. Our brain operates like a complex machine that accumulates a lot of information and it requires some external triggers to recall important moments, memories, emotions. His approach is to use these triggers in artworks to act as a generator that gets external impulse and amplifies our capability to think differently and consider many things around from a different perspective.
Over the past 10 years his artworks were represented in London, Paris, Barcelona, Prague, Dubai, Krakow, Munich. His artworks were also shown in 2 solo exhibitions in Munich and Paris. His upcoming exhibitions for 2023 includes Istanbul, Paris and Shanghai.
