Artwork description / Biography
Patrizia Casagranda creates expressive symbiosis with elements of plaster, painting, stencil technique, street art and typography. Her artworks consist of up to 15 layers, which, when viewed from a few steps away, combine to form a homogeneous picture without losing their three-dimensional effect. Her latest series of 2021, whose creations will be exhibited, deal with the subject of icons. As the picture’s motif, the trained graphic designer chose famous portraits of world art. Purposefully, she uses the “warmth of their universal female charisma” to emphasize the unifying and common values of emotions in the old paintings. However, the language of emotions remains the same, but the old paintings become very modern.
