DESCRIZIONE OPERA:
Linda’s multidisciplinary practice has been strongly based on empirical research and material appropriation. She has been interested in expressing technology through the use of materials and showing the superficiality and failures that comes from the Internet, through a dismantling, layering process and use of artificial colours. Observing how technology shapes our perception and our relationship with space, she draws a connection between these two.
She looks at the connection between forms, surfaces, shapes and architecture. Her work, executed rapidly and spontaneously, aims to challenge the idea of painting taking into consideration the digitalized era we are living in. Through disruption, playfulness and failure, she creates uncontained and fragmented installations that also allude to what we experience is no longer space itself but its image.
Given the production and consumption of art in our time, she feels the urgency to produce something that is uncontained, that cannot be reproduced but that can only be disrupted and recontextualised. Readaptation is key in the process of her practice.
’Digitization’
It’s an aesthetic experience, that shows the domination of visualisation and image that is saturating social and daily life. Found objects, paintings and videos created with Virtual Reality softwares have been used to create this installation.
