Descrizione Opera / Biografia

”Going” represents the separation between two men.
the title stems from the dialogue between what’s happening and the flowing of the scene, that becomes the limit between representation and abstraction and that, in this painting, could become the main theme.
”Going” ,then, being not here- inside the representation- nor even there- through abstraction-, trying to deem both simultaneously, playing with open cards, forced to consider the painting in itself.
my favoritism for reduced format allows me to force the observer to get closer to the painting, to close the distance.
It follows a forced comparison between the viewer and the forged tension, which becomes more and more intimate and personal because of the closeness, the size of the painting, and the atmosphere of the scene itself.
Francesco Battistello was born in Piove di Sacco (PD) in Italy. After high school, his interest in street art led him to study art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice where
He discovered the world of painting which opened new perspectives of research.
In addition to his pictorial research, he had a great interest in theoretical research and in particular in philosophy. He wrote his TFE based on the writings of Antonin Artaud with the help of professor and philosopher Alessandro Di Chiara in 2018. And in 2020, he did a dissertation on language disorders for his master’s degree with the help of aesthetician professor and philosopher Gabriella Dalesio. His pictorial work led him to use different materials and to fluctuate between the field of sculpture and that of photography or installation.
Today, Francesco has settled in the city of Brussels, where he is doing a new Master in Painting at La Cambre.
