Water is the ongoing constant in my art. I am preoccupied by the elusive, distorted and mirrored person below the surface. There is an intersection where several worlds meet; the twisted mirrored surface beneath the water, the underwater existence and the dissolved reality out of the water. My videos are a slow motion subject matter in a colour and gravity diffused setup. Sound and picture flow together revealing concealed obscure realities. The digital sequences are moulded like paintings.
I record under water with a gopro, natural light, hand held camera, use myself, and manipulate the video in premier pro.
I work in video, painting, light sculptures and more.
Water is in constant change, it’s uncontainable, it’s uncontrollable, it’s fleeting. “We reach out for a split second but find ourselves in a fleeting moment.”
