Descrizione Opera / Biografia

In this picture I depicted the beauty of English traditions of an afternoon tea mixed with cultural colours of Italian interior. As much as afternoon tea is loved for its cute finger sandwiches, elegant desserts and restorative drinks, it’s also an occasion in itself. The location is chosen cozy with traditional Italian elements. The how, where and with whom you indulge is as important as what you indulge in. I wanted the viewer to travel to that place and imagine the rest of table setting.
Biography:
Cesar Mammadov is a distinguished contemporary visual artist based in Baku, Azerbaijan. Born in 1988 in a family of artists, the young artist was engrossed in drawings and paintings since his youth days and polished his craft under the mentorship of his father Prof. Sakit Mammadov, who is globally recognized for his contribution to the art industry. Being raised in an artistic environment surrounded by acclaimed creative minds, every early experience from learning to hold the pencil for the first time to accompanying his father to his studio brought him closer to the world of art and paintings. The artist’s work certainly exhibits his fascination with the sea’s extravagance and the beauty of sails engraved in him over the years when he used to visit the Caspian Sea in the summer holidays. His penchant for hues & colors is never-ending. He confidently incorporates a broad spectrum of colors in his paintings and curates a perfect balance between muted backgrounds and the vibrancy of eccentric real-life things. The artist portfolio simulates a traveler’s diary exploring the magnificence of shores, port cities, rooftops, balconies, the intricate details of historical buildings, and the wonders of everyday life, and he translates it supremely on the canvas. He aspires to paint the calm in the chaos of ordinary life and every little detail of it. Although sometimes his canvases are dripping gaiety and delight. Cesar’s preferred medium is oil on canvas and primarily sticks to the landscape genre. However, the artist never shies away from exploring different mediums and techniques. He adores the expression of radiant colors, but his detailed, sharp, monotone drawings are another distinct specialty. He studied at the Department of Painting at the Azerbaijani Academy of Fine Art and graduated in 2012. Since 2004 Cesar has participated in numerous group exhibitions in different parts of the world. The award-winning artist has also successfully organized three solo exhibitions in Baku, Azerbaijan. In 2018 he was recognized as the ”The Painter of the Year in The Turkish World” by The Turkish World Studies International Academy Of Sciences, Ankara, Turkey. In his professional career, he has received many awards from the most prestigious art galleries and organizations. His art is displayed in many galleries and kept in private collections, including the portrait of Elizabeth II, Queen of the United Kingdom, displayed at the Windsor Castle.
