At a universe which the viewer can not define, in a place where indoor and outdoor are one, the story is happening.Two man like “falling angels”are sitting/,standing in front of a moon (?) . Symbols and atmosphere are leading to different answers.
The rendering of forms with sharp features and the legible compositions translate the objectivity and composure with which A. Prapa “unwraps” the identity of her heroes and views their essence, making it visible to the viewer. Her heroes, emotionally detached from the situation in which they find themselves, allow viewers to focus on the intricacies of the scenes and provide their own interpretation of their identity. Once the puzzle of the allegorical tableau vivants is resolved, the stable and investigative gaze of Prapa’s heroes focuses the viewer’s attention on himself, raising the key question of human existence, the question of personal identity.
Biografie
Angelika Prapa was born in Graz, Austria, and was raised in Thessaloniki, Greece. After her studies in Comparative Literature and Psychology, she followed a professional career in writing and editing didactic and psychological-medical Books. Her lifelong interest in painting led her to the department of Fine and Applied Arts of Aristoteles University of Thessaloniki in Greece, where she graduated withe excellence . She participated in many Exhibitions and her works are in Museums and private Collections.
