Descrizione Opera / Biografia
My work is transdisciplinary and combines painting and drawing with photography and post-digital printmaking, performance art, video and installation to explore from a social practice perspective themes of cultural translation, identity, and liminality. This series of artworks features post-digital paintings on canvas combining analogue and digital technologies of production, in a complex work of cultural translation mining a vast multitude of theoretical research and art history references, from Chinese classical ink painting to the Renaissance paintings of Botticelli and Albrecht Durer to the pop-art paintings of David Hockney.
