Artwork description / Biography

Made in the time of the coronavirus quarantine, this knot of rawhide, rope and wire seems made from the interactions of the materials, not by human hand. Recursive and inward-turning, it manifests the nature of being isolated and self-referential. I have used rawhide for decades as a malleable, sensuous material with a life of its own that evokes skin, animal, death and transformation.
