Premio Combat Prize

I am a Mexican artist, graduated from Central Saint-Martin’s (London) last summer.
My work follows a playful process guided by symbolic connections and patterns of thought. Visual icons are taken away from their natural flux and combined in a space where hierarchies are re-designed. The aim is to get away from “meanings” and from the language of representation in general, to create “silent” pieces.
This piece is a painting of my knee when I had stitches. The lumps made me think of ice-cream. The supporting piece can be seen as complementary of the painting, as its shapes colours and numbers are inspired from it. (4 and 2, pink and yellow, far and close).
