Saints and Sinners (Heilige und Sünder) 2015
An installation with human-size fi gures with good and bad image, however from which side seen: from the Catholic or non-Catholic side.
Saints and Sinners, or should we say Saints or Sinners? Those who for some are saints are for others
thieves and murderers. A sensational example: the knights of the crusades.
Whoever has followed the trail of these „knights“ in the name of faith can tell a tale. A tale which is un welcome in some Catholic circles. The knights of the crusades are only one example however in the flood of double characters.
Other figures are exemplary here, showing a very controversial image: politicians, „holy“ men, priests, whores, inventors, religious leaders etc.

Eine Installation menschengrosser Figuren mit gutem wie schlechtem Image – je nachdem, von welcher Seite sie gesehen werden: von katholischer oder nicht katholischer.
Heilige und Sünder - oder sollte man sagen „Heilige oder Sünder“? Was für die einen Heilige, sind für die anderen Räuber und Mörder. Eklatantes Beispiel: die Kreuzritter. Wer sich jemals auf die Spur dieser „Ritter“ im Sog des Glaubens gesetzt hat, kann davon ein Lied singen. Ein Lied, das in katholischen Kreisen ungern gehört wird. Die Kreuzritter sind aber nur ein Beispiel in der Flut der Doppelcharaktere. Exemolarisch kommen hier einige Figuren zum Einsatz, die ein sehr widersprüchliches Image aufweisen: Politiker, Geistliche, Huren, Erfi nder, Religionsstifter etc. „Saints and Sinners“ hat mit Stand März 2015 an die 15 Elemente erreicht und wird auf eine Gruppe von ca 21 ausgebaut.
