Premio Combat Prize

Like a display window Britt Dorenbosch presents her world. She zooms in on ordinary objects, which she paints with fluent brush strokes. By using clear compositions, bright colors and graphic features, she avoids disorder. This however doesn’t make the paintings dull, for you feel the energy of the pleasure and conflicts she encounters during painting. Most of the paintings display still lives. Recognizable elements, such as a fire, an orange or a piece of string, attract the attention and make you explore the composition. In her more current work Britt Dorenbosch started to use more images of solitary placed objects. In the image search series, she painted images that at first sight do not seem related. But upon a closer look all seem to have more similarities than you think. It enables the viewer to compose his own new world.
