Artwork description / Biography
Since 2010, I have been making “words” or phrases in three dimensions
and by doing so converting an idea into an object. Through language,
then calligraphy, then an object, these sculptures materialize what invisible and
unsayable the human being is able to create (thinking), as well as coding
this thinking through grammar and alphabet (language itself).
Language, and in particular the written language with its intimidating flavor
of sacredness, is inhabited both by the reader and the author. My sculptures
intend to bring to life this fully subjective and creative function of the language. Because in them, language goes beyond its functionality: it reveals the unsaid, the implicit, what we think we do not know, and about topics which are wider than what we are being told.
